Painting Studio

Founded in 2014, the Apotheke Painting Studio University Extension Program, under the coordination of Professor Dr. Jociele Lampert, has consolidated itself over the course of a decade as a reference space for deepening studies on pictorial and chromatic processes, exploring painting and its multiple derivations in the teaching of visual arts.

The group is composed of professors, undergraduate and graduate students, and researchers at master's and doctoral levels. The program also has the collaboration and partnership of professors from several Brazilian universities, such as the State University of Santa Catarina (UDESC), Federal University of Amapá (UNIFAP) and State University of Londrina (UEL), in addition to the collaboration of international institutions, such as the Faculty of Fine Arts of Lisbon (FBAUL) and the Lusófona University of Lisbon.

APOTHEKE

The word APOTHEKE has Greek origins and designated warehouses in the port of Athens in Classical Greece; also of Germanic origin, it indicates the origin of the word apothecary, pharmacist or pharmacy. The choice of this nomenclature arises from the perception of the apothecary as a place of laboratory, of experimental work, which is close to the proposal of the group that has in its theoretical foundation the reference of John Dewey. In this sense, it points to Art as Experience, as an axis of interaction between practice and theory, making no distinction between artistic knowledge and intellectual knowledge, considering the University space/time in which we are inserted.

I am Jociele Lampert , I live and work in Florianópolis - SC, Brazil.

As a professor at a public university, I have always questioned the role of art and education. I created the Painting Studio in 2014 after a year as a Visiting Scholar and Fulbright at Teachers College at Columbia University in New York. I had the opportunity to deepen my studies on art as an experience based on the texts of John Dewey, as well as developing artistic projects at the Vermont Studio Center in an artist residency, where I painted and wrote an artist and teacher's diary. I also studied at the Art Student League of New York and learned about different methodologies and forms of teaching and learning in the teaching of visual arts. The Apotheke Painting Studio is the result of my studies, including teaching, research, and extension. It understands the painting studio as a teaching and learning laboratory, something like a studio classroom, a concept that permeates the landscape between artistic practice and pedagogical practice. As a professor, I advise masters and doctors in visual arts, with research that deepens my field of interest between painting and art education .
