Micropractice
Revelations in blue:
Interlocutions between cinema, photography and painting
The Apotheke Painting Studio group carried out a micro-practice during the exhibition “Overseas: Subversive Routes”. This action took place at the Painting Studio (DAV-UDESC) on May 12 (Friday) from 1:30 pm to 5 pm. The proposal of this micro-practice was to produce images using Cyanotype, a photographic printing process discovered in 1842 by the British scientist John Herschel. The images were produced manually using photographic negatives produced from frames of the film Liberty is Blue (Trois couleurs: Bleu, France, 1993). The artisanal process, using a brush, generates unique images with
blue pigment and dialogues with pictorial aspects of artistic creation. The micro practice was promoted by Dani Remião, photographer and visual artist, PhD student at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon (FBAUL), curator and one of the artists participating in the exhibition “Além-mar: rota subversivas”, which opened to the public on April 11th at Galeria Jandira Lorenz.
