WHAT MATERIALS ARE USED FOR ART?
Or are there any art materials?
LIVE: SUZANA RANGEL
RAONY ROBSON RUIZ
The purpose of this material is to present theoretical-philosophical references and educational proposals for the development of teaching work. To this end, we will start from a project developed during the years 2020 and 2021 when the study group held a series of live sessions with artist teachers discussing issues about the teaching of visual arts. In the dialogue that we will develop in the following pages, we will focus on the author Susana Rangel Vieira da Cunha and the virtual meeting entitled “What are the materials for art? Or are there materials for art?”. In this video, Cunha promotes a debate based on the contrast between contemporary art and the teaching of visual arts in contemporary times. The author uses her personal experiences and research on the subject to compare student productions with those exhibited in art exhibitions, demonstrating the constraints that are still present in the school environment and that limit what teachers can propose in the classroom.
