Apotheke Internacional is linked to the research project entitled “The painting studio as a teaching and learning laboratory”, coordinated by Professor Dr. Jociele Lampert, which has been developed at the State University of Santa Catarina - Brazil, since 2017, within the scope of the Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses in Visual Arts. The objective has been to bring together teaching, research and extension actions in investigations that touch on art and art education, especially the context of pictorial language, its processes and interlocutions.

In 2023, the project is linked to CIEBA (Center for Studies and Research in Fine Arts) at FBAUL - Portugal, in the Painting Research Group, with support and funding from CNPq.

Meet our
PADLET

In international cooperation, the project "The Painting Studio as a Laboratory for Teaching and Learning in Visual Arts", coordinated by Professor Dr. Jociele Lampert, PPGAV/UDESC, with a link to CIBEA, has the participation of researchers in sandwich doctorates by CNPq, professors Me. William da Silva and Me. Pedro H. Cavallari. The research project also provides support for the post-doctorate of Professor Dr. Marta Facco, under the supervision of artist and professor Dr. Diana Costa (painting/FBAUL). International cooperation project between the Center for Arts, Design and Fashion of the State University of Santa Catarina and the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon. The hosting of the research in the context of the Center for Research and Studies in Fine Arts (CIBEA) has the cooperation of: Professor Dr. Isabel Sabino, Professor Dr. Rui Serra and Professor Dr. Diana Costa. The workshop proposals are aimed at students and interested community of FBAUL. They take place on April 24th, May 4th and 18th and follow the studies of the Apotheke Painting Studio, coordinated by Professor Dr. Jociele Lampert - Universidade do Estado de Santa Catarina, Florianópolis - Brazil.

Learning from Johannes Itten

Practical and immersive workshop on three contrast studies proposed by artist and professor Johannes Itten, considering observation of Still Life and studies of light and dark contrast, saturation contrast and complementary contrast.


Objective: to develop pictorial studies based on the contrast studies of Johannes Itten. Each student will receive a previously created structure, with a similar chromatic basis, and will develop studies in A4 size, on a medium (canvas or paper). In this workshop, participants will have access to the educational material from the Apotheke Painting studio (J. Itten's Grids) and this may also encourage them to continue studying other contrasts. In addition, there will be a demonstration of the use of paints (gouache, acrylic, oil, watercolor).

Color Interaction and the Challenges of Josef Albers

Practical and immersive workshop on chromatic interaction studies proposed by artist and professor Josef Albers.

Objective : to develop studies, exercises and challenges using colored paper as proposed by the methodology of artist and teacher Josef Albers. In this workshop, participants will have access to educational material from the Apotheke Painting studio (Josef Albers Grids) and this may also encourage them to continue their studies. During the course, there will be practical demonstrations of the proposed challenges.

Experimental paint manufacturing: Egg Tempera and/or oil paint manufacturing

Practical and immersive workshop on experimentation for the construction of paint invoices: recipes from the Artist's Manual of Techniques and Materials by Ralph Mayer, for the use of egg tempera and oil paint.

Objective: to develop palette creation through experimental practice based on recipes from the Artist's Handbook (Ralph Mayer). Production of color and permanence tests. In this workshop, participants will receive pigments for different color tests.

Each participant must bring their own porcelain mortar and pestle, brushes and cleaning supplies.
