INFORMATION FOR CONSTRUCTION AND PROJECT SUBMISSION

 

 

 

  • Project Structure: The project must present clear objectives , justification, outline of the theoretical and artistic framework, and the technique to be studied . The materials and spaces required , when applicable. Schedule with duration, with a suggested minimum of one week and maximum of four weeks.

 

  • Scope: The project must be linked to the area of Visual Arts, with a preference for pictorial language. When applicable, it may include developments in Art Education. Projects may also cover extension actions related to UDESC disciplines and courses.
     

  • Orientation and Focus: The residency will emphasize the pictorial field and may be focused on the orientation and procedures of the Apotheke Painting Studio. If the project includes in-depth studies in painting, drawing or proposals related to Art Education, these needs must be clearly justified, especially in the case of residencies that involve orientation. Once approved, the projects will undergo a schedule analysis and the preparation of the plan of artistic pedagogical actions linked to the proposal.
     

  • Development Spaces: Projects will preferably be developed in the studios of the DAV - Department of Visual Arts at UDESC. Priority will be given to the Painting Laboratory and outside of regular class hours. Alternatively, they may be developed in external studios, depending on the technical needs of the project.
     

  • Project and Portfolio: Submission of a project and portfolio is mandatory. The portfolio must contain images and texts that present and contextualize the research conducted by the applicant. Both the project and the portfolio must be attached to the application email, and both will be evaluated by the committee.
     

  • Costs and Benefits: The residency program does not charge fees for the use of the space, nor does it offer pro labore or food. However, it may cover travel and accommodation costs, provided that these are justified and requested in the project. The use of materials from the Apotheke Painting Studio must be specified, when necessary.
     

  • Exhibition Space: The project may include the use of an exhibition space or open studio, however, the proposals will be adjusted to the DAV school calendar.
     

  • Project Selection: The selection will be carried out by the coordinator of the Artistic-Pedagogical Residency Program and a committee external to UDESC. Changes or developments may be suggested by the committee.
     

  • Open Call: The call for the residency program is continuous, with projects accepted at any time.
