Study Group Meetings Apotheke Painting Studio 2020
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and in compliance with the legislation governing the State University of Santa Catarina (UDESC), research and extension activities took place through the use of digital platforms. Thus, the Apotheke Painting Studio continued to carry out its study, theoretical and practical activities, in Zoom.us rooms. The meetings are held in a closed format and by invitation, for participants who had projects selected in 2019.
As part of the research, we studied the text “Art and Objectivity by Michael Fried”. This is a seminal text for understanding the concept of contemporary art, including the discussion of the concept of painting. In the practical context, the production has developed propositions that include the landscape, everyday life and the rhetoric about the image that constructed the pictorial process.
In the context of criticism, we have advanced in our work clinic, adding to the evaluation process the reflective condition on the problem of painting. How do we produce painting? How do we think about painting in the midst of a pandemic? How do we look at everyday life and verify poetic possibilities?
Thus, one of the themes proposed as a problem was the studio as a time and place of production. Where is my studio located? How do I organize my work documents? How do I access the generation of ideas that circulate in the studio?
